You can create and author a blog, or you can do a combination of the three, by selling evergreen products.
Whether your goal is a full time income, or to help supplement your current income, or even if it's just for some beer money, selling evergreen products, might be the best way to get started.
What are “Evergreen Products”?
That's a good question.
To understand the phrase, let's first look at the term, “evergreen”. According to dictionary.com, “evergreen” is defined as something that remains relevant, useful, and popular. This is important because when you're starting an evergreen business, because evergreen products are evergreen. For example, evergreen products include software that people use on a daily basis such as Adobe Photoshop or Word. They also consist of items such as books and information products which describe evergreen topics such as fitness, cooking, running a business, etc.
It's by this definition that we can understand evergreen products as being products that are relevant, useful, and ever popular. These products will continue to be purchased for years on end, or until they are replaced by evergreen products in the same niche. Seasonal items can also be evergreen! Ever buy one of those artificial Christmas Trees? You may find yourself using that same tree, year after year. It's evergreen.
I Love the Challenge of Finding New Products to Sell Online
Part of the fun of starting your own business, is trying to figure out which kind of product you'd like to sell, and then figuring out where to find it! While we are currently talking about evergreen products, please note that what we discuss, can apply to all sorts of products in general – whether evergreen or not.
Pro Tip: I wrote another article about finding high ticket affiliate programs, that you may also find helpful, as these can also be evergreen.
You can find it here:
I'd like to present you with 2 different strategies for finding products to sell:
Find a product to sell by doing market research and finding an in-demand niche / product with the potential for high profit margins.
Use the Google Keyword Planner to Find Evergreen Products
To find if something is in-demand, you can simply use tools like the Google Keyword Planner, to see how many people are searching for that type of product.
You may locate the Google Keyword Planner by clicking here:
The Google Keyword Planner will tell you how many monthly searches are being made on a given search term.
As you can see, last month, there were thousands of people searching for “bbq grill gloves”. This is a basic way for how you can know there's a market to sell them yourself.
There are other ways to perform this kind of keyword research, such as using the tool located here:
The above tool is a paid solution that will give you access to more information than what you get from using the Google Keyword Planner.
This is what you see when you use that tool:
As you can see, you get a LOT more great information, such as insights about your competition, how easy it may be to rank for the keywords related to your product, etc. Of course, none of this data is set in stone, as it's ultimately up to Google to decide how valuable they feel your content is worth. That's why once you find your evergreen product, you should only use the best quality content that you can muster, in order to promote and try to sell it.
The tools listed above will make your influencer marketing life so much easier!
If you feel that you may not be the best writer for creating high quality, persuasive content, then I've written another post that can offer you some advice. It shows you how to write an article, and you can find it here:
Pro Tip #2: If you don't want to write the content yourself, then you don't have to. I've got two other solutions that will help you out.
Solution #1: I wrote an eBook that you can have for free, that teaches you what to say to a content writer that you pay to write the content for you. You may find this free eBook here:
Solution #2: Leverage the power of Artificial Intelligence. Using AI isn't a 100% hands-off experience, however, it will most certainly help you get the job done much faster than going at it alone. Here is the leading software (Jarvis AI) for making this happen (please note that there's a free trial, so you can play around with it without spending any money):
Perhaps One of the Best Parts About Selling Evergreen Products is that You Don't Need to Reinvent the Wheel – All You Need to Do is Find and List Them on Your Website!
Unless you're looking to Private Label the products that you'd be selling, you do not have to recreate the product. Perhaps over the weekend, I'll write about private labeling, in case you're unfamiliar with the practice.
For now, I do want to make sure that you have at least a basic understanding about what it means.
Simply put, what “Private Label” means, is that you would be selling products such as clothing apparel (namely t-shirts) that another manufacturer created under their brand name.
For Example: Let's say you really like a certain toothbrush. You see this brand of toothbrush when you're at your neighborhood market. You see it at stores across the country. You see this brand of toothbrush everywhere, and so you assume that the logo defines the toothbrush – and for many people, it just might!
However, there's most likely some factory that's creating this same exact toothbrush by the thousands, and while you're used to seeing Logo A being slapped on this toothbrush and the box it came in, and all the packaging, and everything else included with it, there are thousands more of this same exact toothbrush, but with Logo B all over everything.
The funny thing is that you'll often hear all the regular folks of society be absolutely certain in their own minds that Brand A's toothbrush is better than Brand B's toothbrush, when it's literally the same exact toothbrush.
Now why does any of this matter?
Because if you decide to private label the evergreen products (or any other kinds of products), then you're going to want to find a product you like, and then find out about where this product gets manufactured, and then contact the manufacturer.
Side Note: Please keep in mind there are certain things you may or may not be able to completely replicate, such as trademarked / copyright items. Always do your own due diligence. If you can, it's always recommended that you do the bare minimum of at least three things when private labeling your own product (and I'll later go into more detail about all this private labeling stuff in a different post):
- Request a sample of the base product before you do anything else. This way, you can see, smell, touch, taste, or whatever, in real life. This is important. You want to be able to see and feel the type of quality that you're going to be selling to your customers. This is the time where you take notes and tell your manufacturer what you like and dislike about the product. To take it a step further, read the reviews. See what other people like and dislike about the product. Communicate this with your manufacturer. Fix it.
- Ensure that you're dealing with reputable manufacturers. You'll be negotiating prices, and at the end of all the work-related things, such as possibly changing or upgrading materials, adding / subtracting features, etc., you're going to be sending them money. Lots and lots of money. It may not necessarily be a HUGE amount of money, but I consider any amount of money I'm not okay with having completely vanish without a trace, to be a huge amount of money. Do you disagree?
- Even though you've confirmed that you're dealing with a reputable manufacturer, always, always, ALWAYS get an inspection from a professional inspection company to check every single product, take pictures, record video, and send you the detailed results, PRIOR to you releasing the final payment. Ensure that EVERY ITEM passes inspection. Period. I made this mistake before. I thought, “oh the lady was so nice and friendly”. NO. Get an inspection.
Those 3 things were just a short list that I could go on and on about, but this isn't a topic about private labeling. The whole point of this, is to let you know that you don't need to reinvent the wheel. The wheel has already been invented. This is about finding evergreen products.
Before you venture off into private labeling your own products, there are other avenues you can take, as well. These are ways in which the wheel has already been invented, and this will cost you nothing aside from the costs of registering your domain for your website, which you can buy from here:
As well as the cost you'll pay for your website's hosting account, which you can get from here:
Dropshipping Evergreen Products
Dropshipping is something that people have been doing for a very long time.
What is Dropshipping?
Dropshipping is an arrangement between a store and a supplier where the former stores and holds items for the latter, and then ships those items to the customer when they place an order. This way, you don't have to stock products or deal with shipping them to your customers. You simply order what you need from your supplier when someone places an order. You're simply the middle person.
What are the Benefits of Dropshipping?
The benefits of dropshipping are many. From time savings to increased revenue, there are a lot of advantages to selling via dropshipping.
In a traditional ecommerce business, you have to stock your products and ship them out yourself. This means that you should expect to spend a lot of time doing said shipping as well as stocking any products that happen to sell quickly. Furthermore, if you're an international company, this also means dealing with varied shipping restrictions and prices in each country, as well as varied tax rates.
Dropshipping solves these issues, because you're essentially outsourcing your shipping to another company and getting a price break for it. In the case of international sales, this also means that you don't have to deal with different customs regulations from country to country when filing your taxes (please note that I'm not a tax professional, so you may want to consult with one, as this is not financial or tax advice and the laws where you live may be different).
Dropshipping also increases revenue in a few ways. First, you don't have to deal with shipping and stocking fees, which you would otherwise need to factor into the price of your products. Second, depending on how long your supplier has been in business and their overall track record, they may offer discounts when purchasing large quantities of a product. For instance, if you're buying 1,000 pieces of clothing from a supplier that's been in business for a long time and has a solid track record, they may give you a deal on the price per unit because they know you'll be purchasing future shipments from them as well.
Finding Dropshipping Suppliers
It's easy to find dropshipping suppliers for the evergreen products you want to sell. A quick Google Search will reveal many of them. Also, you can use a website like Oberlo.com to find products to dropship.
To search Oberlo, simply enter your niche and keyword, then select the type of product you're looking for. It's that simple!
If you're looking to sell something particular, like watches or clothing, reach out to a supplier directly instead of simply searching through Oberlo, after finding a good match. Many suppliers will gladly work with you if you have a solid business plan and a track record.
For those who want to venture outside the realm of simple dropshipping, with it's lower barrier to entry and lack of upfront costs, you can also invest in inventory and become an actual retailer with your own storefront. This is obviously much more involved than simply dropshipping products, but it has higher profits margins.
Conclusion about Dropshipping
Dropshipping is an all around benefit to selling online, as it has little to no initial costs or burdensome regulations. Just find a good supplier that ships internationally and you're on your way to starting your own ecommerce business with only the bare minimum of investment!
You can even talk about these kinds of products inside your targeted email marketing campaigns to your email list subscribers, if it's something that can benefit them.

The Benefits of Being an Amazon Affiliate to Sell Evergreen Products
As an affiliate marketer, I have found being an Amazon Affiliate allows me to consistently generate income. This is due to the fact that there are always new items on Amazon that sell very well and many of them are evergreen products. There are five benefits of selling products like this through Amazon Associates, which is their affiliate program:
1. Receive Commissions for items you didn't even purchase
You can make money for things you haven't even purchased. This is because Amazon Affiliate marketers are paid according to how many customers they refer to Amazon through affiliate links on their site or social media pages, usually 4-8% of the total sale. So if you are getting customers to buy an item you didn't even purchase, you get paid commissions for it.
2. Easy ways to promote Amazon products
There are many ways to give your readers information about the evergreen products on Amazon you'd like to promote. The most popular one is by including basic links throughout your website or blog posts that direct people back to Amazon's website and with your Amazon Associates ID attached. You can also share directly from Amazon and add your ID to the post and images, and there is a programmable button through Amazon that you can add to your site or blog.
3. Easily track sales
Amazon affiliate marketers receive referral fees for products sold within 24 hours of initial clicks on their affiliate links; there's no need to wait around for 30 days to receive commissions. With your unique ID attached, clicking on the link takes them directly to the page you are promoting or directly into their cart to purchase. You can then track sales conveniently through your Associates account that updates quickly.
4. Great website conversion rates
There are many products with high conversions on Amazon. Evergreen products, such as books and fitness supplies, often sell very well. This is because Amazon customers trust Amazon and know they offer great deals on high-quality items that will last for a long time.
5. A growing product range
Not only do evergreen products have high conversion rates but their product range is growing. Amazon has many different categories you can promote, with the most popular being electronics. Things like books, kitchen items, games and toys are all evergreen products that do well on Amazon due to their high conversions and product range. The company also updates its website every day with new listings of products customers are searching for which makes it easy to stay up-to-date and find new evergreen products.
When you sell items through Amazon, they handle the processing of payments, shipping and customer service for your customers, which allows you to focus on making money and increasing sales. Customers know they can trust Amazon and it's a good place to shop based on the many customer reviews on the website.
Evergreen Products are Always in Demand, Which Means They Will Never Go Out of Style or Get Old
In today's digital marketplace, it is more important than ever to offer products that will stand the test of time. The only way to do this is by selling a product with a timeless appeal and a broad customer base. An evergreen product is just that, one that remains relevant no matter the cycle of trends.
Evergreen products are popular because they maintain their value and can consistently be brought out to meet customer demand. They provide a sense of comfort to consumers who know they will always have something to purchase for themselves or others. Whether it's a gift for another or a gift for themselves, an evergreen product can always be relied upon.
The following are examples of products that will never go out of style or get old:
- Collections or sets of products that offer variety without being too trendy
- Low-cost but high-quality items
- Items that are practical, useful, or essential
- Products that make life more convenient or comfortable
As you consider your business strategy for the coming year of 2022, consider whether or not your products fall into this category. If they do not, perhaps it's time to look for evergreen products to promote.
In Conclusion – Evergreen Products to Sell Online
We've discussed quite a bit. We've defined what it means for items to be considered “evergreen products”. We've discussed ways in which we can lessen the challenge for finding these types of products that we can promote. Google Keyword Planner was one of them.
Once we have our market research data to know about how many people are actively searching for said niches of items, we have resources like Amazon, for example, that we can use to find the specific evergreen products to promote.
We've talked about the benefits to promoting these kinds of products. Again, we covered a lot. Read through it again at any time if you need a refresher. There's no harm in that.
