Do you like to post pictures of your life, your food, your travels, or your products? If so, then this blog post is for YOU! Many people are wondering how to make money on Instagram, and ClickBank has come up with a way for you to do just that! Do you want to know how to make money on Instagram with ClickBank?
I'm assuming you've already got an Instagram account, or else you probably wouldn't be here. Once you have your ClickBank account, you can start making money on Instagram, right away!
One major problem that bloggers and online entrepreneurs face when they want to make money on Instagram with ClickBank is figuring out how to get traffic. That's where this post comes in handy. Here' I'll take you by the hand and show you exactly how to make money on Instagram with ClickBank.
The first thing you're going to need to do, if you don't already have one, is create a ClickBank account. If you already have a ClickBank account, then please feel free to skip ‘Step #1‘.
Step #1: Sign Up for a New ClickBank Account
To begin, you'll need to register for a free ClickBank account. This is where you'll discover items to market in the future. It's simple to create a ClickBank account; follow these steps:
- Go to clickbank.com
- Create an account by choosing ‘Create Account‘ and then providing your personal information.
- Click ‘Next', and then you need to enter your banking and tax information in order for ClickBank to pay you the affiliate commission money that you earn.
- Next, you'll need to review and ‘Accept' the Terms and Conditions.
- Setup your Account Information by entering your username, password, etc.
- Complete the ClickBank Survey. You'll now have the option to join ClickBank University, which might be useful if you want to learn more about affiliate marketing using ClickBank.
- Check your email for the confirmation link.
You're now officially signed up. Welcome to ClickBank!
Step #2: Choose Your Niche (Something You Enjoy That's Also Profitable)
You've now got your ClickBank account created, so the next step is to choose a profitable niche. One good example of a niche, is something that's ‘evergreen'. It's a fancy term for something that's always in style, such as losing belly fat, or something that people are always going to want help with. There's money in this niche, and there are a multitude of high quality offers in this niche.
Think about the niche you'd like to be involved with. Another great strategy for choosing a profitable niche, is to find something that you truly enjoy doing. This makes the work a lot more fun, and it keeps you motivated when times get tough.
Or, remember how I mentioned that ClickBank has some great offers on their site? Well, how about browsing through their ‘Marketplace' section and just typing a random word to see what's there? See if anything catches your eye. This helps me when I have no idea about which product to go for. I simply start in reverse. I find the product and then decide that's the niche I want to focus on.
It's completely up to you, how you do it.
One more solution to finding a profitable niche, is to find an authority blog that's been around for a couple of years, and then perform keyword research on how profitable a niche may be. For example, let's take a look at how profitable the ‘weight loss' niche happens to be:
As you can see from the screenshot above, ‘weight loss' is a very popular keyword on Google. These are just the monthly numbers of searches for the keywords on the right side. And, these are all just from the United States.
People all around the world are interested in weight loss, and as you can see, there are plenty of opportunities to attract your target customer. Now, this isn't to say that you should choose ‘weight loss' as your niche. Nor is this to say that you should not choose ‘weight loss' as your niche. Honestly, I don't care which niche you choose. I just want you to choose a PROFITABLE niche, and ‘weight loss' most certainly is. But again, you do you. This should be fun.
Words of Wisdom and Food for Thought
I enjoy what I do on the internet, because I've found a niche that I enjoy, so it doesn't feel like work. It IS work. All of it. If you're wanting to know how to make money on Instagram with ClickBank, or anywhere else online, for that matter, then it will take a bit of rolling up your sleeves and getting your hands dirty with actual work.
The purpose of THIS website is to provide you with the resources to help streamline the process, such as performing a ton of keyword research (as indicated by the screenshot above), simply by typing the keyword as simply as I can do it on Google.
Or, when you go to create your landing page, which is a step that we'll get to in a moment. You're going to want to have content on your landing page. You can't just go and steal content from someone else. You need to have unique content when promoting your product(s). If your content isn't unique, then why would a search engine bother to put you on Page 1 of their Search Results? They wouldn't. They'd simply just rank the origin page of your content.
I'm not saying all this to discourage you. Quite the opposite, actually.
You see, there are many people online stealing content and creating unnecessary uphill battles for themselves. These are the same people you'll later hear proclaiming that it's impossible to make money online. For them, it probably is. That's not what I want you to learn, here. So, that's why I'm being upfront with you in saying that you're going to need to work.
As for the landing pages I mentioned earlier, we'll go into more detail a bit further down. Use the ‘Table of Contents' up top, if you just want to skip to that section, but I suggest you keep reading. Your landing pages are going to need content on them.
You can sit there and write out each sentence, 1 by 1, or, you can take my advice and try out the free trial of this software. Instead of you wrestling around with brain fog and writer's block, simply allow the power of artificial intelligence step in and help you out. For more information on that Jarvis AI software, I wrote a pretty in-depth review on it, here.
Pro Tip: Once you find your niche, please take a moment and make sure you can quickly find a lot of interest in your niche on Instagram.
Step #3: Choose the Product You Want to Promote
We are now at the next step of learning how to make money on Instagram with ClickBank, and this is an important step because this is the step where you can really take a look at the numbers in terms of commission dollars you will earn per sale / rebill.
Watch this video:
He explains things really well, in this video, to give you a hands-on approach for how and why to select good products to promote that actually help people. I don't recommend that you just focus on earning commissions, but it's completely your choice. Rather, I'd suggest you set your mind on providing value to peoples' lives and ultimately helping people, while being financially compensated for doing so.
Again, it's completely up to you.
I do want to emphasize the importance of a few of the ClickBank metrics, such as:
Gravity, Initial $/sale, Average %/sale, Average Rebill Total, and Average %/rebill
- Gravity: how many affiliates are promoting the product in how many unique affiliate programs.
- Initial $/Sale: how much is the commission on average, and how much does it start at?
- Average %/Sale: how much of a percentage will you earn when someone buys this product (ake sure it's high enough to make the offer profitable)?
- Average Rebill: how much does this product, on average, tend to make someone rebill again and again?
- Average %/Rebell: how much of a percentage will you earn when that person rebills (again, make sure this is high enough as well)?
Since your goal is figuring out how to make money on Instagram with ClickBank, you're going to want to pay close attention to the above metrics, because these metrics are how you optimize your earning potential.
Step #4: Create Your Customer Avatar
As mentioned in the above video, it is highly encouraged to take a look at your vendor's page. You need to be able to get in the mindset of your target customer. Is this product something your customer will want? Does this page “sell” me? Think about who your target customer is. Why would they want this product? Why would they need this product? Have they tried anything similar? Why did the customer's previous products work or not work? What could have gone right? What could have gone wrong?
Ask yourself those types of questions (and more). You need to become the customer. In this step, don't think so much like someone trying to promote affiliate offers. Instead, imagine walking in their shoes. What must their journey be like? It's often hard to sell to people when you can't relate to them. You may be an anomaly, but most people need to meet their customers at their level.
This is probably the most important step for setting up your marketing strategy. Take some time to do this. Figure out which blogs your customer might read, and then go read those blogs. Do they watch a particular kind of television? You must become your customer. This will be infinitely beneficial for the next step.
Now, as you're creating your customer's avatar, remember to check the vendor's affiliate page, as well (or you may need to find their contact information and send them an email). They might have banner ad graphics, email swipes you can use to email your customers / leads, and all sorts of different marketing resources for you to use. If they have this stuff available, then please feel free to use it.
Some vendors may even give you a discounted (or even free) trial of the product, or the actual product, itself! Simply tell your vendor that you'd like to promote their product and ask if they provide any review copies or samples of said product. Some will say yes, and some will say no. It never hurts to ask.
Many affiliates promote things without ever having used the products or services. This, in my opinion, can be either misleading, inauthentic, or even a bit unethical, depending on what's being said about it. For all the products I promote on here, I can show receipts. I may not own every upsell or ‘one time offer', but I at least own all the base levels of every product I promote. This is because I don't want to promote something I'm not willing to use, myself.
With Speechelo, for example, I did go through and purchased all the upsells for it. I currently use it for the voice overs for all the videos on my unrelated YouTube channel about cryptocurrency.
Again, this is completely up to you. Do it however you'd like. 100% your choice.
Step #5: Build Your Landing Page & Setting Your Autoresponder
To build your landing page, there are so many options available. Lead Pages, Opt-In Monster, Thrive Leads, etc. The list goes on and on. I used GetResponse when I built this landing page: https://swiftcreator.com/how-to-buy-better-content
I've also used Thrive Leads and a few others. Some people swear by ClickFunnels, etc. It honestly doesn't matter. They all share an objective, with some additional features and benefits to make themselves unique-ish. That objective is ultimately to collect email addresses from people interested in your stuff. That's the goal in its most basic form. Capturing emails to acquire new leads.
I chose GetResponse because it's quick to setup, easy to use, and since I use it for my email marketing already, anyway, then I find it to be quite convenient instead of having to pay for multiple services to carry out each individual task. GetResponse does many things that I need for email. Plus, it's kinda cheap, too.
Click here to check it out.
Now, because building a great landing page is a combination of science, art, psychology, and a whole lot of trial and error (mostly error), I won't get much into it, in this post. I'll create a separate post that will be dedicated exclusively to building landing pages, and then I'll link it in this post when I do.
Note to Self: This space is designated for the future URL of my landing page tutorial.
Also, when I discuss the landing pages, I'll be sure to include information about the autoresponder, as well. For now, just know that it's the thing that will enable you the ability to communicate directly with your audience, via email.
Why is this important?
Well, your goal is learning how to make money on Instagram with ClickBank, but there's a slight, potential problem. What happens if something happens to your Instagram account? Sometimes people slip up and engage in a political discussion while logged in, and say something they cannot take back, and then they end up banned.
Or, what if you forget your Instagram password, try the wrong one a few times, and then get locked out of your account? Any number of things can happen. As the result, you may find that you can no longer communicate with your audience.
Not if you've been building up your email list! Your email list is something that no social media platform can ever take away from you. So if, for whatever reason, you no longer want to be on Instagram, and you'd prefer to move to Twitch or something, what then?
Well, now you can take your audience with you because you have them opted into your email list! I wrote a guide about how to get more viewers on Twitch, but in all honesty, one of the BEST ways, is to already have followers you can just send an email to, like, “Hey guys, come check out my livestream! I'm on right now.”
IT'S REALLY FREAKING POWERFUL!
You absolutely NEED to build a list. It's vital. Go here and signup for a GetResponse account.
Just do it.
Step #6: Drive Targeted Traffic to Your Instagram Posts
None of this means anything without targeted traffic. If you're serious about figuring out how to make money on Instagram with ClickBank, then you're going to need eyeballs on your offer(s). Lots and lots of eyeballs!
Use Facebook to Drive Traffic to Your Instagram Posts
One of the most common ways to drive quality traffic to your Instagram posts is to use Facebook, and more specifically, to boost your posts on Facebook. After all, Instagram is owned by the creators of Facebook (so it's not really a stretch).
Now, how do you boost posts on Facebook? Well, one option would be to create an ad account with Facebook that specifies “Boost Post” in the name. Then, you'd simply click on the “Boost Post” button and you're good to go. Another option is to use a 3rd party service that can help speed up this process.
Here's how it works:
You create a post on Instagram just as you normally would. Boost the post on Facebook just as you normally would. Then, use a service to submit this Instagram post to all sorts of different social media sites (e.g., Tumblr, StumbleUpon, Pinterest, etc.).
Keep in mind that there are TONS of these types of services available online. Find one that works for you. Just be sure that it's not spammy; otherwise, you risk destroying your reputation (and possibly getting kicked off of Facebook).
Tread lightly when using 3rd party tools. I may make a tutorial for this, as well. Meanwhile, there's an e-buddy of mine who wrote a great forum thread about using a 3rd party tool to make money with Facebook. I, and thousands of others, have read every word in this thread, and it's worthwhile to take an afternoon or two, and read through it from Page 1 until the end.
Mind you, the software in the forum thread is long since out of commission, the principles largely do still work. Here is the thread: https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/if-i-can-make-189-00-in-a-day-using-facebook-you-surely-can.760255/
After reading that thread, you will know what you should and should not do. I would suggest not doing anything in that thread until you understand why people have had problems with using that and similar methods. Do your own due diligence. I provided that link for educational purposes, only. It's not an endorsement and it's not me telling you to go do it. It's simply me telling you what's possible. You've been warned.
Use Reddit to Drive Traffic to Your Instagram Posts
Another awesome way to drive traffic to your Instagram posts is to use Reddit. This traffic is going to be a bit tougher to acquire, but it's not impossible.
The way I did this was by finding subreddits where my target audience hangs out at and then promoting myself there. What I mean is that you have to be real. People know when they're being sold to on social media, so you can't just post something and not expect to be called out on it.
Don't Forget About Hashtags!
Don't forget about Hashtags! They're one of the best ways to get your posts in front of like-minded people (i.e., potential customers). Just don't abuse it or use hashtags that are too short lived. To find great hashtags, simply use the Instagram search bar and type in different words / phrases that you know your customers would use (remember your customer's avatar?). The best hashtags are those with high engagement rates, so make sure to check how many people are using it before adding it to your post.
One way to check the engagement rates of hashtags, is to search for the hashtag on Instagram and then look at how many people have liked a post that uses that same hashtag. For example, if I search for #dogsofinstagram on Instagram, I can see how many people have liked posts using this specific hashtag. You can also use 3rd party software to streamline this process for you. It may cost a little cash, but it's a trade of money for time. Time is more valuable than money (in my opinion), as time is finite and money is not. It's up to you, whether or not you feel the same.
Also, I didn't mention it, but it should be rather obvious. Complete your ‘Bio' section and the rest of the spaces for your account. Use a good photo for your profile picture (something personal or related to the niche).
Use a website like Fiverr.com, if you're not good with graphics. Someone there will surely be eager to make you an Instagram Profile Photo. Your posts should include high quality images (and if your images are coming from you, by way of camera phone, then do everyone a favor and hold your phone sideways) and the images should be appealing to your target audience.
Bonus Method for Getting Targeted Traffic to Your Instagram Posts
Paid ads. Yes. Those. The one thing almost every online marketer either uses, or dreads. But how does it fit into this whole idea of how to make money on Instagram with ClickBank?
Easily! With paid Instagram ads, you can get people to your Instagram posts, quickly. But how do you know how much to pay so that your post gets more views? Well, this is where A/B testing comes in (‘A/B testing' is Marketer Jargon for ‘Split Testing').
You see, with A/B testing, you'll be able to test how much it costs to get a specific amount of views on an Instagram post. So, for example, I could set up an A/B test that would tell me how much it costs to get 1,000 views on Instagram. Afterward, all I'd have to do is check how many people like my post (and how many likes were coming from paid ads), and then I'll be able to find the exact amount I need to pay in order for 1,000 people to see my post!
By doing an A/B test on how much it costs to get targeted traffic to your Instagram posts, you can figure out how much you should be paying. Save this information in a spreadsheet so that all you have to do is copy and paste the different amounts into the ads.
Pretty cool, right? Right.
Lastly, how do you know how many people to target with a paid Instagram ad? For now, all I can say is testing and trial and error (mostly error). It's how it works for me, but if anyone has any other input on this matter, please leave a comment below so that I can update this article.
Step #7: Communicate With Your E-Mail List!
As we're nearing the end of discovering how to make money on Instagram with ClickBank, we need to think back to Step #5 for a bit. The landing page you built to speak directly to your customer's avatar, and get that person to provide you with your email address in exchange for the value you're going to provide them with, is what we need to think back on.
Did you promise your potential customer anything? Did you tell them you'd email them at some point and say or do X? Well, now is the time to make good on your promise! If you say you're going to do something, do it. It's that simple.
Keep in touch with your email list. Communicate with them, regularly. These people should mean the world to you. Of all the billions of people on the internet, these are the few people who took the time out of their daily lives to listen to what you have to say. These folks are important. Treat them as such. If you happen to join my email list, then please know that you are appreciated. Sincerely.
We've covered a lot of ground. We learned how to make money on Instagram with ClickBank by setting up our ClickBank accounts, by choosing a niche, finding products to promote, creating a customer avatar, building a landing page that speaks directly to our avatar, driving traffic to our posts, and following up with the extremely valuable people in our email lists. Whew! That's a mouthful!
I hope this was helpful to you! If so, please share this post with others who might need the information presented. If you have any questions, please ask them in the comments section below and I'll be sure to get back to you ASAP. Thank for you reading!
I'll see you on the next one! Cheers.
